Tilbury(London) - Transport Connections
The ports' excellent location provides extensive transport connections for cargo movement across the UK.
Road
Tilbury is uniquely positioned in that it has motorway standard roads right up to the port itself which provides immediate access to the M25, London’s Orbital Motorway, which in turn, facilitates access to ALL parts of the UK. This includes the M11 and A12, with direct access to East Anglia. There is access for loads up to 4.3 metres wide into the port by road.
Rail
Rail-borne cargo has direct access from main line to the main port terminals. Passenger services operate out of the rail station on the London / Fenchurch Street line.
Sea
Tilbury is situated on the River Thames. The potential onward movement of cargo via the river Thames in to London is greater from Tilbury, due to the logistical position of the Port.
